The recent Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League leaks may not be real, at least according to comments from one developer who previously worked at Rocksteady on the new Suicide Squad game itself. The upcoming superhero game from the makers of the Batman Arkham series is rumoured to feature a battle pass and purchasable cosmetics, based on images posted to 4Chan. Details have also emerged regarding the game’s story. The accuracy of these leaks however is unclear.
A supposed leaked image appears to show a Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League game lobby, with four players taking the roles of King Shark, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang respectively. A menu at the top of the screen lists options for “battle pass” and “store,” seemingly suggesting that the co-op game will include seasonal and purchasable additional content.
Originating on the image board 4Chan, the apparent Suicide Squad game leak also shows various in-game currencies, potentially used to upgrade your characters, equipment, and weapons. One former Rocksteady developer, however, whose credits include creating the Deadshot character model for Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, offers a response to the image.
Del Walker, who worked at Rocksteady as a senior character artist from 2017 to 2021 before joining Apex Legends studio Respawn and then The Last of Us creator Naughty Dog, responds to the leaked images via Twitter. One user, ‘Beware the Batman,’ says they will not share the leaked images “out of respect for the devs.” “Don’t worry about the devs,” Walker replies. “They’re laughing.”
Another thread, posted by Twitter user ‘TheBatFamily,’ offers a summary of other leaked information regarding the story and structure for Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League. “I would never work on a game this bad,” Walker replies. PCGamesN has asked Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, publisher of the new Suicide Squad game, for comment, and will update this story with any further information.
